It's been almost a week since our return from Austin and it's taken me nearly this long to fully process what an amazing time it was.
Our first show at Tellers was a blast and awesome learning experience. We hopped off the plane and hurried to the hotel for a 10 minute quick change, then back into a cab to the venue. The other bands playing the Shamrock Your Ass Off Showcase were amazing, and it was an honor to play among them. It was a really fun night smile emoticon
On Friday the band and I explored downtown Austin all day and into the night. We caught some other gigs, hung out at the Youtube House (all weekend party!) and ate delicious pizza (and got some much needed rest...)
The Saturday show at Burnside's Tavern was another whirlwind of an evening; the house was packed, the streets were bustling, and the show was killer!
I love Austin. They say that SXSW is a marathon, not a sprint - that could not be more true - I'm finally now recouped and ready to record the vocals for the new EP. More to share soon!
*Note: We collectively consumed probably 10 lbs of barbecued meat
